Contract Cantonese Pastor (Part time)
Pastor Jamson’s Mission statement of serving God is "Outreach to Unreached". Mission Agency Interserve (HK) has seconded Pastor Jamson to SGBC as a part time contract pastor, effective Jan 2023. Pastor Jamson loves simple living, exploring nature and short hiking; and likes to see spiritual growth of believers.
Born in Hong Kong, Pastor Samson immigrated to Canada, believed in Christ, and was baptized in an Alliance Church while studying university in Toronto. In 1987, after graduating from University of Toronto’s Electrical Engineering Faculty, he worked for 4 years as an electrical engineer and then went to study in a Bible college. In 1994, after graduating from M. Div with a major in Missions from Hong Kong Alliance Bible Seminary, he pastored a church for 9 years in Hong Kong. He was later jointly sent by churches as a missionary family with wife Kitty and three children to Cambodia for 15 consecutive years. During those years, they started a university student center and a Khmer speaking church - The Way of Life Church. In 2017, Pastor Jamson returned to Canada for medical treatment until now. During this time, he has been doing leadership training and pastoral care remotely for the Cambodian ministry.
Pastor Jamson and wife Kitty have 3 children (Clement, Evelyn and Phoebe) who were born in Hong Kong but grew up in the mission field, Cambodia. They all came back to Canada for their university studies. They are truly TCKs (Third Culture Kids, formerly called Missionary Kids) and are currently working in GTA, Hamilton and studying in Waterloo respectively.
