Isaiah 43:16-21
Rev. Hubert Wu
Introduction –
The World is under no “normal” circumstances…
The unchanging God is ushering in a new “normal” for us!
(Isaiah 43:14-15)
- Memories that bewilder (Isaiah 43:16-18)
- Don’t let your past master you
“Do not allow your past experience — those ‘former things’ both good and bad — to color your perception of the present and expectations for the future.”
“God wants us to learn things about his character and nature from the past but not to enshrine the methods of the past.”
- Don’t let your past master you
- Vision that advances (Isaiah 43:19)
- Look for what God is doing “new”!
“In order for something great to be done to the glory of God, a great contrast needs to be made. We need to be brought to this point that our faith is awakened. We are able to put our trust in Him to do the impossible.”
“Stop defining and limiting your future in terms of your past. Start defining it in terms of your God.” John Piper
- Look for what God is doing “new”!
- Be God’s Witness for the New “Normal” (Isaiah 43:20-21, 10)
- The God who transforms for His glory
Conclusion: In this changing and chaotic world, let us rely on God and follow Him closely with faith. He is the one who guides us to ride the wave of change and empower us to be His witnesses.
