FabFeb 2023: Stand Out & Make an Impact

What is Fight4Freedom?

Fight4Freedom is a Canadian non-profit charity organization existing to be an active voice and advocate of justice for women and men exploited by human trafficking in the form of sexual exploitation, and to further assist them in finding necessary support systems that will aid in their journey to safety, healing, and restoration. Fight4freedom is also the mission field where Gladys Mok serves, as a local missionary supported by SGBC.

Human trafficking is the recruiting, harbouring, and/or controlling of a person for the purpose of exploitation.

Four main arms of Fight4Freedom:

  • Education: Presentations to schools, churches, service providers; research and events
  • Outreach: to areas in Canada and South Asia where sexual exploitation occurs
  • Aftercare: through housing, education, job skills, mentorship, wellness, & provision of basic needs
  • Partnerships: with NGOs, police, lawyers, financial planners, counselors, churches, etc.

What is FabFeb?

FabFeb is Fight4Freedom’s annual, month-long campaign to raise awareness and funds for the efforts to end human trafficking.

How to support FabFeb?

  1. Raise Awareness: Stand out by wearing a bow or bowtie in February.
When someone compliments or asks about your bow or bowtie, it is an opportunity to talk about why you are wearing it. We want to take the opportunity to tell as many people as possible about human trafficking. Use this chance to stand out as a way to raise awareness, to raise money, and to bring freedom to those exploited by human trafficking!
  2. Raise Funds:
    1. purchase a charitable bowtie (available after Sunday Services on Jan 22, Feb 5, 12, 19 and 26 at the main lobby)
    2. join the SGBC fundraising team and seek sponsorship
    3. sponsor brothers and sisters who participate in the fundraising.

Proceeds raised during the FabFeb campaign will go towards Fight4Freedom's Survivor Care program.
