SGBC Family News | March 20, 2020

Dear SGBC Brothers and Sisters,

In the past week, the development of the new coronavirus pandemic has caused great changes to most cities and the world. In view of the announcement by the Government of Ontario and Health on March 16 that any mass assembly, including religious gatherings, is to be suspended, the deacon and pastoral team has decided to cancel all church meetings from that day on. Sunday worship services will go live stream online starting March 22nd until further notice.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

The Word of God and the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts are precisely the only unchanging power and strength that could guide us in the face of a rapidly changing world. With this "SGBC Family News", I hope to share with you SGBC pastoral arrangements in the future and how to walk with you and support each other.

Sunday ONLINE worship services:

Mandarin 9:15 am – 10:10 am
English 10:15 am – 11:10 am
Cantonese 11:15 am – 12:15 pm

Please visit the church website 5-10 minutes before the worship time, select "Online Worship" on the homepage, and enter the "Online Worship" page. You can choose YouTube channel or Facebook channel to participate. Please prepare your heart before worship, and dress neatly, as if you were attending worship at church. Prepare to meet God with awe and anticipate to meeting him. He is the only God worthy of our worship in spirit and in truth.

We will postpone the original sermon series "Riding the Waves of Life", instead, starting March 22, we will prepare messages corresponding to the current situation. The new sermon series is "Trying Times, Unwavering Truth". I hope that brothers and sisters will take this precious moment to learn to let the Word of God guide us to face adversity and live a life pleasing to the Lord.

Please try visiting today or tomorrow (3/20-21) and watch the replay trial (unofficial meeting) to ensure that you can participate in the live broadcast on Sunday. Please use a larger computer screen or TV screen and turn up the volume to watch. Trial URL:

Life Groups

During the pandemic, it is vital that the people of God continue if not more to support and encourage each other. While taking extra precautions, we can all learn to be flexible and encourage each other to “meet up”, e.g. through online platforms. Let’s learn to worship together, share, watch, and pray for yourself, for the family of God, for the sick and for the world. Continue to study the Word of God and spend time with the LORD and keep in touch with pastors and leaders and brothers and sisters at church.
