Journal of Spiritual Journey (7) “When Life Does Not Follow Our Plans
Psalm 66:10-12
Rev. Hubert Wu
Introduction
1. My Journal of Spiritual Growth:
a. Disruptions in life often bring divine moments for growth
b. “When one door closes, another door opens…” Alexander Graham Bell
2. What happened between the Praise and Testimony in Ps. 66?
I. Disruptions Expose What Is Within Us (v. 10)
The first doorway to growth:
God exposes what is within us so that He may refine what He desires to form in us.
II. Disruptions Lead Us Beyond Our Own Strength (v. 11-12)
The second doorway to growth:
Sometimes God allows our self-sufficiency to be interrupted so that we may discover His sufficiency.
III. Disruptions Can Become Doorways to Transformation (v. 13-20)
a. A Renewed Surrender (v. 13)
b. A Clear Testimony (v. 16)
c. A More Honest Heart (v. 18)
d. A Deeper Confidence in Prayer (v. 19)
The third doorway to growth:
The greatest breakthrough may not be a changed circumstance, but a changed person.
Conclusion
“Lord, what are You revealing, refining, and forming within me through this interruption?”
Behind every testimony may be a season of testing. The disruption exposes our hearts, the testing refines our faith, and God transforms the interruption into a doorway to growth.
